Founded over 550 years ago, the University of Glasgow is located in the cosmopolitan West End of Glasgow, just three miles from the vibrant city centre and well-connected by frequent bus and subway services.

Within our Gilmorehill Campus, we have our main building dating from 1871, and which is an iconic Glasgow landmark in it’s own right. Designed by the renowned architect, Sir George Gilbert Scott, the building is the second largest neo-gothic building in the United Kingdom – only the Palace of Westminster is larger.

Our stunning Bute Hall forms the centrepice of our offering. This hall featuring stained glass windows, ornate woodwork and which is 30m high, can accommodate everything from high-end formal dinners to plenary sessions for conferences. Seating up to 1000 people it is a breathtaking venue which doesn’t fail to impress.

Other large flexible venues include Hunter Halls and the Kelvin Gallery which are unique and flexible in their own right. Often used alongside Bute Hall to complement one another as support space for catering or exhibitions or in their own right as conference venues.

Alongside these venues we have seminar rooms and lecture theatres in the main building and nearby satellite buildings. Our rooms accommodate anywhere from 10 people up to 1000.

The University has also undertaken a campus expansion in recent years which is ongoing. This has given us many more beautiful state-of-the-art buildings such as the James McCune Smith Learning Hub. Available to use out of term time for conferences, it has a 500 seater lecture theatre as well as several other large lecture theatres and numerous seminar rooms.

So here at the University of Glasgow you will find the old sitting in harmony with the new, giving a truly memorable experience to delegates.
