Great Hall: the People’s Palace was unveiled following a £6.3m refurbishment. Home to the Great Hall, a technically advanced 770 seat theatre with retractable seating, dressing rooms and one of London’s largest stages and originally opened in the 1930s, this art deco masterpiece has seen the likes of the Rolling Stones and Damon Albarn grace its stage.
The addition of a dedicated foyer with bar and split mezzanine level balcony the venue is ideal for hosting anything from a theatre festival to a screening, a touring production or one-off gig.
Victorian Octagon: designed by noted Victorian architect E.R. Robson and based on the Reading Room at the British Library, this hidden gem opened in 1888 features a triple height room with domed ceiling and busts of literati keeping an eye on proceedings. This space was restored to its Victorian splendour in 2008.
With a flat floor of 450sqm the Octagon is suitable for networking and drinks receptions for up to 400 or as a spectacular backdrop for a dinner for 220 this versatile space offers flexibility and ambience.
We would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to your team. Our event at QMUL was a great success partly thanks to your professionalism and ability to react to our last minute requests. Over the weekend, nothing was ever too much trouble for you and your colleagues and we definitely feel like we received excellent value for money. We will certainly consider using QMUL for future events.
