PHTA’s versatile meeting rooms are designed to keep you focused, connected, and productive.

Our largest rooms have a capacity of 60, layout dependent – making them ideal for board meetings, away days and training. One also benefits from an adjoining breakout space, which ups the capacity to around 80.

By booking our full training suite, we can create a flexible event space for around 120 guests.

Location and transport information

Birmingham Health Innovation Campus is situated in leafy Selly Oak, just off the A38 Aston Webb Boulevard.

Parking for event bookings is free of charge, and we are within walking distance of both University and Selly Oak stations, as well as being served by several TfWM bus services.

Disabled spaces and EV chargers are available, as well as bike storage (please bring your own lock).

Meeting and event spaces that inspire

With floor-to-ceiling windows flooding the room with natural light,  state-of-the-art audio-visual technology, including large connectable TV screens – perfect for Zoom and hybrid meetings – as well as superfast, reliable broadband, PHTA’s central location offers the highest levels of convenience and comfort for your meetings and away days.

By booking both our large meeting spaces, the adjoining breakout space and the central lounge, we can create a flexible fourth-floor event space for around 120 guests.

We can customise these rooms to your requirements with a variety of configurations including banquet, cabaret, boardroom, classroom and theatre layout.

For medium and large meetings, we also have a separate registration space available for display banners, sign-in stations and merch giveaways.

All rooms are accessible, and all WC facilities are self-contained, so inclusive.

Should you need it, we can also provide:

·       PA system (four microphones – 2 wired, 2 wireless)

·       Modular stage available for hire (max 8m2, includes wheelchair ramp and safety barrier)

·       Stationery and flipcharts

…and our friendly staff will be on hand to assist with any finer details.

Who we are

PHTA provides lab and innovation space for life science and health technology companies in Birmingham. Based at Birmingham Health Innovation Campus, it offers flexible Category 2 lab space designed for start-ups, SMEs and scale-ups developing new healthcare technologies.

The facility includes 70,000 sq ft of wet and dry lab space, collaborative and flexible workspaces, and the Makerspace – a prototyping and small-batch manufacturing facility. It also provides access to training, business support and commercialisation expertise.

As the University of Birmingham’s flagship life sciences research facility, we bring entrepreneurs and businesses together with the next generation of academic and clinical leaders, creating unique opportunities to accelerate the development of cutting-edge therapies and technologies.
