What academic venues can do to help support this goal:

• Increase proportion of plant-based options on menus throughout the conference
• Utilise reusable materials whenever possible
• Plan venues and social programmes with travel in mind, encourage delegates to walk or cycle
• Create sustainable delegate activities centred around wellbeing or charity work
• Consider a donation to, or project with, an environmental charity
• Leverage shared university infrastructure and data to measure, monitor, and reduce energy use.
• Pilot low-carbon initiatives such as food-waste tracking, water reduction, or renewable sourcing.
